"I've been alive for over a century, you're not the first person who has said that to me and then thrown up all over my shoes. I like these shoes," Nikola replied, placing a cork in the wine and carrying the bottle. Why let it go to waste when Nikola could drink it later? Quality never really came into it when you drank by the cellar-full and not bottle-full. Though Nikola had always preferred drinking Helen's finer wines before starting on the cheap swill. "And why wouldn't you be entitled to a second chance? If this place will give it to Jack the Ripper, ha even me well then I'm sure they'll give it to you."

Nikola beckoned Guy, sliding his jacket back on and glancing at the party. He still preferred the earlier suits, back before the cravat had gone out of stile but there was still something to be said about the fine tailoring of the forties. "You're not that bad, terrible choice in friends except me of course but still not that bad."

"Well, someone has to show Guy how to drink seeing as someone decided to nudge him of the sobriety wagon." Nikola replied, not adding childishly that Guy had started it even if he had. He was over a century, petty childishness should have been behind him by now. "See, someone who understands. No one here cheats, it's politics what are they expecting?"

Nikola leaned back in his chair, arm sliding behind Alcuin before he stretched his foot out to nudge Guy's table. "Yes and your human desire made you weak and susceptible to a mere pretty boy tempting you. You could have at least given in to someone more... anything. Smarter, maturer, superior, anyone else."

Alcuin's attention immediately focused on Guy, concern on his face. "What happened?" He immediately felt badly - he hadn't known. Had he been neglecting his friendship with Guy? He couldn't deny that there was more space between them now than when they'd been lovers, and it saddened him. He also hadn't known that Guy hadn't been drinking, which made his current state even more worrying.

"Oh, don't you start," Guy waved off. "It's fine. He was pretty, isn't that all that matters? And I was thirsty." And that was the greater truth. He hadn't known how thirsty he had been until that first sip. "Well, I'm here now," he remarked to Nikola, and grinned. Tempted by someone, well, smarter and maturer than the boy, certainly.

"Is it? I thought you were doing quite well, not enough to convert me but I could at least appreciate the effort from a distance." Nikola said, sliding his hand up Alcuin's back and casually appreciating him before turning his attention to Guy and the grin. Turning his head, he narrowed his eyes slightly before smirking back at him. "No, I never find shallow beauty has ever mattered. I prefer and always have preferred intelligence like Alcuin's... like yours. Yes, you certainly are here aren't you? Come on Alcuin, drink up."

At the comment about his intelligence, Alcuin practically glowed. He had been so accustomed for so long for being appreciated and admired for his beauty, loved for it even. His beauty, not his mind. And yet he entirely believed Nikola when he said this.

Alcuin knocked back what Nikola had poured, and coughed, wiping his mouth.

The devilish grin was emphasised by devilish eyebrows practically creating horns over Nikola's eyes. "Of course, of course, but as I said; it didn't take too much convincing. But I must say I find this much more plesant company. Intellectually, and I can't deny, visually."

"And now your glass is sadly empty, so another hmm?" Nikola murmured, touching the bottom of Alcuin's chin before leaning up and brushing a kiss against his lips. Nikola leaned across refilling Alcuin's glass before topping Guy's and his own up. "A much more tempting evening then with that boy? Good, we could make it more entertaining I suppose."

Alcuin was dying to know who the boy was, if he knew him. But he had the good manners not to ask, even as he drank again from the cup. As expected, it did not take much for him to begin to catch up.

"No boys here I suppose," he said, leaning back against Nikola so that he was practically in his lap despite still technically being perched on the arm of the chair. "Did you know I'll be twenty-five in two months? And yes, I prefer the company, too. I missed you, Guy." He smiled at him with genuine sweetness.

The grin more definite now. "You could, yes," he answered at Nikola, before his eyes went back to Alcuin.

The man didn't need too much to catch up with them, and sitting against that chair he was reminded of the many nights they had spent. He missed them too. He stood up and refilled Alcuin's drink, putting a hand against the other's cheek. "I miss you too," he assured the other, and refilled Nikola's drink as he spoke.

"Excellent," Nikola replied smiling like the cat that got the oh too slow canary. Watching Guy touch Alcuin's cheek, Nikola tugged him more onto his lap and waited for Guy to come closer. Curling his fingers around his wrist, Nikola shook his head at the drink. "I'd rather have something else. And you owe me for... sharing my alcohol. I don't normally like to share but I will make an exception."

Alcuin looked a touch surprised as he turned his head to look at Nikola, even as he was draped over his lap. "Will you?" The meaning was clear, after all, and Nikola... well, he didn't like to share. That was also clear.

Guy set down the bottle and didn't refill or down his own drink. There were other things to attend to now. "Such a generous man," Guy replied, standing against Nikola and though he couldn't keep the cynical tone out of his voice, he certainly intended make use of the suggestion made. He put a hand on the man´s cheek and turned to Alcuin to kiss him. That had been too long ago.

"Mmm perhaps, if that is what you want ljubavi," Nikola murmured, sliding one hand down Alcuin's back as his other hand traced up Guy's wrist before drawing down to the palm of his hand. Nikola smirked seductively at his friend before tugging him closer as Guy kissed Alcuin. "I like to think I have my uses as well. And Guy after tonight? No more drinking, hmmm?"

When Guy kissed him, Alcuin melted into it, even as he reached out and grasped Nikola's free hand with one of his own.

When it broke, he just barely heard Nikola's words, and agreed breathlessly, "Yes, for me?"

Well, how was he supposed to say no to that face or to the hand touching him? Or perhaps he was too drunk to consider his words. (Wouldn’t he have agreed to anything right now?) But no. As he passed a hand through Alcuin’s hair, he felt he meant his words. “No more drinking.” He felt strengthened by this couple, these friends who he apparently had failed. It was a strange notion, but he would try not to fail them again. And – stranger still – he meant it.

He turned to Nikola, and leaned into him. He was too proud – even now – to say thank you. “You have your uses,” he said instead.

"Of course I do, I'm Nikola Tesla. I'm known for my uses," Nikola said smirking at Guy before reaching up to fist his shirt before tugging him down into a rather demanding kiss. Sliding his hand around Alcuin's waist, Nikola stretched his fingertips up to slide across Alcuin's ribs before pulling back a little.

Watching the two of them kiss... Alcuin felt only a warm glow of arousal and pleasure, rather than jealousy. Taking a short little breath, he reached down and began to unbutton Nikola's shirt.

The kiss was possessive in a manner Guy wasn't often kissed. It would have been amusing, but he was too busy being aroused by it. His hand was in Alcuin's hair, whose feel he had admittedly missed. He pulled his head down a bit, and kissed him too, deeply. His other hand explored unfamiliar territory, Nikola's bare chest where Alcuin exposed it, trailing further underneath the fabric.

Nikola nipped at the bottom of Guy's lips, smirking as he pressed a more chaste kiss against his lips. Turning his head, Nikola kissed down the length of Alcuin's graceful neck and made a soft, pleased noise at the hands unbuttoning his shirt. And the more curious set of hands.

"Guy," Nikola said rolling and extending his name out. "It's not nice to tease."

Alcuin moaned softly into Guy's kiss, the alcohol washing away any inhibitions he might have had. "No teasing," he whispered when Nikola spoke, sliding a hand up his bare chest to rest his fingers against his throat. "Bed now."

"I do profoundly apologize," Guy breathed, too much a whisper to sound heart-felt, too much of a lie as well.

Somewhere it felt a bit silly to have missed Alcuin's touch, and it would be a feeling stored away for some other time. There were more pressing matters at hand (every pun intended).

He stood up (managed to stand up) and let the way be lead.

"Oh, you're very sorry I can tell." Nikola replied sarcastically, helping Alcuin up off his lap and perhaps, touching a little more than he should. Nikola smirked, sliding an arm beneath Guy's and leading him towards the bedroom. Alcuin knew the way and it was Guy that Nikola was more concerned with falling down into his incomplete lab or falling over and breaking something valuable (like the wine.) "And still wearing far too many clothes for my liking."

Nikola began to unbutton Guy's clothes, taking his time to undress him.

Alcuin followed behind them, and stood in the doorway for a moment, just watching them. When he approached, he moved behind Nikola, rising up on his toes a bit so that he could bend his head to his ear and nip lightly at it. "Are you thinking about what you desire?" he whispered.

Guy certainly was. Drunk and lead, he allowed the unbuttoning with a smirk on his face, eyes coming into focus in this new setting, and hands finding the band of Nikola's trousers, tugging at it, because yes, he liked teasing and as the shortest man here, fuck, that was his prerogative.

Nikola leaned back against Alcuin, smirking at the nip to his his ear as slowly pushed Guy's shirt off his shoulders. The question was an interesting one, was he thinking about what he desired? No, why think about something when he could do something about it.

"Perhaps, perhaps I'd rather do what I have desired than think. An unfortunate way to think when you're a scientist," Nikola murmured, sucking in a breath at Guy's teasing. Nikola licked his lips, smirking before leaning forward to brush a kiss against Guy's lips. "And what is it that you both desire?"
