The fact that he had not even knocked to come in said a lot, not just about Nikola but how comfortable he felt around her. He'd been doing that to Helen for years. "Do you even realise what hour it is? I think I saw a sunrise, for the first time in at least a century and it wasn't because I stayed up for a change but because I got up early."

Nikola made himself comfortable, placing the pastries and coffee he had found down on a table. "I hope you're not decent."
